X-WR-CALNAME:The Carnival of Monsters Art Festival
X-WR-CALDESC:[widgetkit id=22]\nIn 2011 we held our first Carnival of Monsters Contemporary Arts Festival which attracted over 4,000 visitors to a site extending over 2 acres. The art was on a massive scale and some pieces were created especially for the event. We had an artist in residence and the community liked the way that the industrial setting was not precious - a refreshing approach to exhibiting art.\nThis year we are aiming higher. From 13th - 27th October the event will comprise over 40 artists and include shows from The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University as well as The Big Draw for children to take part and the Black Arts Month event for all to join in. This is all free to come in and look around and gives locally working artists a platform to show their works to the public.\nOnce again the Carnival will host the Oxjam Music Festival which was hugely successful last year.\nWhen is the Carnival of Monsters Open?\nWe're open every day from Sat 13th - 27th October from 12 -6pm (apart from Mondays and Tuesdays when we'll be closed)\nWhat is there to see?\n• See work from over 40 Artists all FREE• 13th Oct, 1 - 5pm Creative Carnival FREE (Kids Event)• 20th Oct, 1 - 5pm The Big Draw FREE (Kids Event)• 20th Oct, Oxjam Beeston Takeover (Ticket Only)\nWhere is it all happening?\nBartons: 61 High Road, Chilwell, Nottingham, NG9 4AJ www.bartonsplc.co.uk\nAs we get closer to the opening of this years festival we'll be introducing you to the artists that will be exhibiting with us this year.
