Saturday June 7th
Comedy Club Night - 7.30 doors for 8pm start
Featuring: Phil Walker, Howard Read, Jellybean Martinez and Chris Norton Walker with compere Spiky Mike.
Phil's act has taken him to some weird & wonderful places, from a scout hut in Unst in the Shetland Isles to a porta-cabin on mount Alice in the Falkland Islands, basically he'll go anywhere for a laugh!
Phil is very proud & honoured to have entertained over 4000 troops on two recent tours to Afghanistan as part of the CSE comedy club to which he describes, "I've played to some tough crowds in my time but they where never armed to the teeth with machine guns before, thank God they liked me! His act has become a firm favourite with the armed forces & has seen him touring places as far a field as The Falkland Islands, Kosovo, Kuwait, Bosnia & Germany.
He started his career on the "Mainstream circuit" but before long decided to change direction & try the comedy club scene around the year 2000. Phil's first comedy club appearance was at the Frog & bucket comedy club in Manchester. Shortly after in 2002 at the famous Comedy store in Manchester he was voted City Life Comedian of the year, Previous winners include Peter Kay & Steve Coogan. As well as regular gigs at the Comedy Store where he was also part of the successful Men @ work improv nights he can now be seen at most of the leading Comedy clubs throughout the country including the Jongleurs Comedy club chain, Highlight comedy club chain, The Glee, The Last laugh, The Frog and Bucket, Comedy central & Rawhide.

Howard Read is a comic, writer, animator and actor, in that order. He is best known for being one half (and the other half), of the Big Howard, Little Howard, the world's first human cartoon double-act. He is also an acclaimed stand-up comic, writer, author, illustrator and animator.
As a Stand up Howard Read is brilliantly off the wall. Totally silly, songs and jokes and stupidness. The man is a baffoon of the highest order. And in this business that is a good thing.

The creation of Matthew Ellis, Jellybean Martinez is a Spanish pop star who works an audience like no other. He's an explosive, high energy act; jam-packed full of camp nonsense and leaves an indelible mark on any punters mind! He's a regular on the Scottish comedy circuit and is now making waves in England.
He's a regular headliner at the Breakneck and Beehive clubs in Scotland, as well as getting paid work at The Stand, HaHa Comedy, Just Laugh and Jongleurs. His 2013 Edinburgh show Britain's Got F*ck All Talent (**** Three Weeks & The Skinny) sold 80% of its tickets this year and is going to the Leicester and Adelaide Festivals in 2014.
"Latino lothario Jellybean Martinez is the icing on a very tasty cake" The Skinny
"Hits the comic bullseye" Three weeks ****
"Fun and feel good show for everyone in the room" Across the Arts ****

Chris pokes fun at comedians and audiences alike; mocking assumptions and challenging notions. He uses himself, and his life experiences, as a mirror to ridicule stand up comedy and to deconstruct established comedy motifs. He regularly performs all across the country taking his brand of one-liners, hilarious anecdotes and a commanding stage persona with him.
Definitely a name to look out for in the future!
After graduating from Drama school (CSSD) in October he hit the ground hard with numerous gigs all over the country and wants to follow in the footsteps of fellow alumni French and Saunders and Catherine Tate in to TV and film writing and performing.
Chris has gigged with the likes of Isy Suttie, Rob Rouse, Dan Antopolski, Paul Foot, Mitch Benn, Tony Law and many others.
Although London based he is a regular performer on the Brighton and Manchester comedy circuits. Gigging regularly for Mirth Control, Hilarious Comedy Clubs, Laughing Horse comedy Clubs. Performed at Downstairs at the King's Head, Monkey Business (Saturday), Buzz Comedy (Various), Comedy Balloon (Manchester), ABBCOM (Sheffield), ALIS (Stockport), Fun House Comedy, Ship Of Fools Comedy, We Are Most Amused, FunnyFirst Mondays (St.Albans), Oi Oi Comedy (various venues) as well as Nottingham, Leicester and Brighton Comedy Festivals.
