BBC 1 Star of Friday Night Comedy Show Hospital People

Top Ten Fosters Comedy God

Best Established Comedian Nomination Adelaide Fringe 2010

Chortle Top 50 Most Memorable Gigs of the Decade 2000-2010

Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee 2007

“If laughter is the best medicine, Ivan Brackenbury should be a real hospital radio DJ. Ivan's Hospital broadcast, Disease Hour, is the most deliciously enjoyable I've spent on the Fringe. His poorly judged dedications, like everything else in this chock-full show, come thick, fast and funny. And that pregnant pause, as we wait to hear which song Ivan selects for which ailment, gets more tantalising every time.” THE GUARDIAN ★★★★

“I'll let you go to the show and find out which patients and what ailments elicit the playing of Solid as a Rock, Secret Smile and the rather excellent Mary McGregor's hit Torn Between Two Lovers and I am sure Joan Arkwright's gynecological problem is all the better for Ivan's thoughtful record choice. I laughed so much I nearly suffered the same thing. Special in every sense of the word. Wonderful, pitch-perfectly performed silliness from which you emerge still giggling.” THE SCOTMAN ★★★★

“For simple laugh-'til you ache humour, Ivan Brackenbury is the hit of the Fringe” THE EVENING STANDARD ★★★★

“laughs per minute the funniest show at the Fringe” TIME OUT ★★★★

“Ivan’s prime gag is to play the least suitable records possible for the listeners to his Disease Hour. Binns just lets him get on with being brilliantly, beautifully bad. You’ll spend an hour glorying in the stupid ways we find to keep ourselves amused, and then you’ll leave, still chuckling at them.” THE TIMES ★★★★

Ian D. Montford

Ian D Mont

Ian D Montfort is a psychic from Sunderland, who made his debut at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe. Binns combines the 'cold reading' trickery of stage mediums with comic patter to debunk their techniques. He made the radio series Ian D Montfort is Unbelievable for Radio 2 in 2013.

 Tom Binns

Tom’s first television appearances were in Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge, Friday/Saturday Night Armistice and Fist of Fun. More recently he’s been in Spooks (MI5) and the IT Crowd.

Tom has written for many TV shows. One of the sketches he wrote for Trigger Happy TV made it into both the BBC and Channel 4 polls for best comedy moment and TV moment.

Tom was the host of the XFM Breakfast show in London before being awarded the largest fine in European Broadcasting History. He was fired again from his radio show in Christmas 2009 for high treason when he interrupted the Queen’s Christmas message with some jokes about the monarchy.

He’s presented many hours of live television including the sports show Under the Moon. While presenting Channel 4’s breakfast show, readers of More Magazine voted Tom the 25th sexiest man in the world (the magazine has since folded).

Tom started filming a revival of the game show Celebrity Squares and when the show was cancelled he went a bit mad and with no knowledge of Spanish, or sailing or business he set up a spanish sailing business, sail-ibiza.net. _e business is based in Ibiza, an island not world famous for it’s clean living and demand for sailing.

He has enjoyed sell out shows at the Edinburgh Festival since 2007 and his characters, Ivan Brackenbury and Ian D. Montfort have been “monster hits” (Time Out) at comedy festivals and fringes throughout the world.

“Binns has his character absolutely nailed, and mines the comic seam ruthlessly to create top-quality entertainment with practically universal appeal.” THE GUARDIAN
